Hello beautiful Fashionista/os! My name is Halle Russo. I am so excited for my first article as a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista. I am from Cincinnati, OH, the land of Skyline Chili and mediocre professional sports teams. However, I go to school eight hours away at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, where I am currently a sophomore. It is safe to say that attending college in the south was quite a culture shock, but I have fallen in love with UA for the food, fashion, and of course, football.
I am pursuing a major in public relations, and a minor in political science. Although winter break is over and classes are back in session, I am looking forward to a new year filled with tons of fashion and plenty of RAD experiences. Attending such a large university with individuals from all over the country means that there are unique styles everywhere I turn. I look forward to sharing these looks with all of you throughout this semester.
My personal style is definitely very girly. I have always loved dressing up, and will find any excuse to shop for new clothes—whether that be a holiday, a vacation, or a sorority event. My inspiration comes from a mix of the lifestyle bloggers that I follow and the looks that are showcased in my favorite stores: Lululemon, Free People, and Anthropologie. I am very active, so my style is typically based on versatility. I believe in the power of accessories to turn a look from good to great, so you can always find my personal style emerging from my shoes and my jewelry, no matter what I am wearing.
To achieve this look, I paired a simple pair of jeans with a tunic. I love deep tones, such as the maroon of my tunic, because my accessories can truly stand out. The simplicity of this outfit also gives me the freedom to dress it up or down, depending on my agenda for the day. For my shoes, I decided on a simple pair of brown suede booties. These are extremely comfortable, which is especially important if I am running around town on my feet all day. My jewelry of choice includes two layered necklaces, one long tassel necklace and one simple short necklace, and a stack of gold bracelets. This look is awesome because it can take me from breakfast to dinner and anywhere in between without having to change a thing.
I cannot wait to see what 2017 brings to the CollegeFashionista world from my fellow Style Gurus. Here’s to an incredible semester Fashionista/os.
