This is my first semester as a Style Guru at Xavier University. I could not be more excited to be apart of the first team here at Xavier! I have been passionate about fashion for as long as I can remember and I have an overly organized closet with a knack for creating interesting looks.
What I love most about fashion is that there are no rules. How I dress myself depends on how I feel and I love the self-expression that it portrays. I am a believer of tailoring style to your own personality without giving it a label. My interest began long ago when I collected Teen Vogue as a hobby and snuck into my mom’s closet to try on her heels. Nothing brings me more pleasure than being able to inspire someone through my keen sense of style. I have been sharing fashion advice since I can remember and could pronounce the words “Coco” and “Chanel” before I could “Dad” (sorry Dad). Fashion’s ever-changing ability and how far the industry has come excites me.
Some of my go-to pieces during the summer months include: boyfriend jeans, chambray tops and a good pair of sunnies.
Ultimately, the dream is to move back to New York after school and pursue a career in the fashion industry. Jim Carrey said it best during his Commencement Address at the 2014 Maharishi University Graduation, “You can fail at something you don’t want to do, so you might as well take a chance at doing what you love.” I am more than ecstatic to begin my journey pursuing what I love. If I am anything like Diana Vreeland in The Eye Has to Travel at age 80, I will have accomplished my dream.
