Hello Fashionista/os! My name is Harleen Sidhu and I’m a third-year journalism student with a double minor in fashion and public relations at Ryerson University in Toronto.
I’m an admirer of fashion in all its forms from fashion writing and photography, to fashion design. I love to unwind with a magazine or two in hand. Not only are magazine spreads inspiring, but so are the streets of the 6ix. Street style is literally endless inspiration and I’m excited to report on the latest for CollegeFashionista.
When it comes to style I like to say basics are a Fashionista’s best friend.  They make late mornings a lot less stressful and a lot more comfortable. I also find myself experimenting with styles and fashion faux pas like wearing white after Labor Day.
Winter is in full swing and I’m reaching for the coziest of turtlenecks, parkas and booties in order to get me by. For this look, I paired a classic red lip with my wardrobe staples: a black turtleneck, patent black booties and a black leather belt.
Recently, I’ve been giving sustainable fashion a chance in my everyday outfits. This means buying less and buyer better. In terms of style, I’ve made it my mission to curate a wardrobe of timeless classics. Of course a completely fast fashion ridden wardrobe is a long way to go, but it’s a work in progress. As the saying goes, it can take years to master style so in the meantime let’s learn from each other.
