Hey there lovelies! My name is Harley Barnett and I’m currently having a mini freak out because I can hardly contain my excitement over this internship opportunity. I was introduced to CollegeFashionista through a former Style Guru who now runs her own slay-worthy blog. I’m not going to lie, I’m definitely a newbie when it comes to fashion photography and articles… but hey, you have to start somewhere! I can’t wait to grow as a blogger this semester and network with all of you fashion killers.
At the moment I’m a senior attending Central Michigan University located in middle-of-nowhere Mount Pleasant, MI. There may not be a mall in sight, but that’s okay. You can take the girl away from the city, but you can’t take the city out of the girl. I have become the queen of online shopping and swear by sites like Missguided and Agaci. What I love the most about these sites in particular is that they always, always, always have really great discounts for students. Who said you should have to sacrifice quality for price?
When it comes to my major, fashion merchandising and design, it took me until the second semester of my sophomore year to realize that fashion was something I wanted to professionally pursue. I had originally been taking the introductory courses for elementary education. However, after a few volunteer weeks in different schools I realized that teaching just wasn’t for me. Taking the extra semester to stay in school for a major that I love is the best decision I’ve ever made. I can truly say that I love all of my classes and look forward to attending them each week.
I picked up this deep V-neck laced up black T-shirt from Forever 21. I layered this super chic silk bomber jacket, also from Forever 21, on top of the T-shirt to play with texture.. My plain black leggings are actually from a thrift store. Last but not least, these killer heeled faux leather booties are from Charlotte Russe and can take any outfit from “ehh” to “slay!”
