Hello again! My name is Hayley, and this is my third semester returning as a Style Guru. This fall I took a brief hiatus since I was studying abroad in Prague and having a European adventure. I am so incredibly excited to be returning to CollegeFashionista this spring and can’t wait to get shooting on the streets of Denver and on campus. While I was away I did keep up on some of the current trends from home as well as observed European fashion first hand, and I plan to utilize all of that information this semester as I report and photograph what’s hot at Denver.
While my hair color has changed, my style definitely has not, however studying in Europe really did teach me the art of minimalism. Basic neutral colored pieces are perfect for building a capsule wardrobe that can grow with you as you transition from college into the adult world. Some of the big trends that I have seen are fur vests, thigh high boots and chokers and what better way to highlight those statement pieces than to stick to basics and neutral colors. I am also noticing a rise in the popularity of halter tops in tandem with the bodysuit trend. I cannot wait to see what will come back in fashion next!
This semester I am a junior at the University of Denver and am anticipating graduating early (Oh my!). In the meantime I will be rushing around campus, snowboarding, working as a Campus Manager for University Tees, and a Campus Correspondent for HerCampus DU. Post graduation I hope to get a job in the creative sector of the fashion, entertainment, or media industries.
