Hello Fashionistas! My name is Helyne and I’m so glad to be returning as a Style Guru. I’m a sophomore at the University of Florida (go Gators) and have always had a keen interest in fashion, health, and keeping up with all the latest trends!
I would describe my style as hipster, laid-back, but definitely trendy. I am one of those girls that owns 75 percent black clothing. Because black looks good in every season… am I right? I am either seen wearing cute athletic apparel or wearing high-waisted shorts/jeans with cute sneakers and a choker.
In the outfit pictured I’m wearing black high waisted shorts with a chunky belt buckle, a rose colored crop top, a tie necklace, and slip-on sneakers. I think this outfit is perfect for any day time outing. Chunky belts have recently come back in style. I love the fact that they can dress up and add a unique twist to any outfit. Additionally, tie necklaces are very trendy right now. They can be worn with any outfit and are easy to adjust. You can make the necklace long or adjust it into a choker to dress an outfit up or down. Especially since I live in Florida, this is a great outfit to wear in the grueling heat. I decided to wear my glasses to keep the hipster vibe of this outfit. However, a cute pair of sunglasses would also go great with it.
