Bonjour Fashionistas/os, je m’appelle Hemant. I’m ecstatic to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team as a Style Guru Intern for summer 2016!
I am 19 years old, and I am Minnesotan, not born but raised. Currently, I am a sophomore at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities College of Liberal Arts pursuing a major in French studies and a minor in fashion studies. Creative, sassy, fun, good-hearted and absolutely crazy are five words that describe my personality.
Ever since I was young, I enjoyed fashion. I dreamed one day to become a fashion designer or working in the fashion industry (we will see what happens), and I always remember watching fashion shows on YouTube of my favorite designers and brands: Christian Dior, John Galliano, Versace and Dolce&Gabbana, to name a few. I also enjoy memorizing the names of fashion icons and runway models like Sasha Pivovarova and Natalia Vodianova. My passion for fashion and style has since grown, and I am constantly keeping myself updated in the world of fashion and going shopping for the next outfits in my wardrobe.
As a Fashionisto, I adore wearing button-downs with the sleeves rolled up, jeans/shorts (preferably rolled up), Converse All-Stars, my Alfani Drew Moc Toe Boots or another pair of stylish shoes. To add some of my own personal touch, I accessorize with a watch, H&M leather bracelets or other types of bracelets (I LOVE bracelets). Fashion serves the purpose for us to showcase our truest selves and embrace our inner Style Guru. It is our time to work!
With that said, amidst the craziness and ambiguities of my life, I love to stay humble, hopeful and positive. I look forward to pursuing my fashion dreams this summer and enjoying the beautiful weather with family and friends!
