Hello Fashionistas/os! I’m back for my second semester as a Style Guru and I am so excited for another exciting semester. I’m now a rising senior at Kutztown University majoring in communication studies and this semester I decided to tackle on a third minor (cheers to a bigger workload).
As any semester comes to a close, you always re-evaluate yourself in some sort of way. Whether it may be mentally, physically and yes, even your wardrobe. We’re all guilty of it; days of looking presentable/fashionable for class turns into strolling in an hour late sporting your comfy sorority T-shirt and sweatpants by finals week.
In the wake of my procrastination and stressful time, I actually found a new side of me that I strangely liked: simplicity. Having a reputation throughout the years as a diva or being called the “European princess,” not only did I embrace it, I lived by it. Ever since I can remember, I fantasized about the glamorous aspect of fashion and that’s what I swore by. Lately, however, I’ve noticed my personal style changing and really creating my own identity in a whole different light that I didn’t even know was within me.
This new change is really letting go of all the heavy makeup and “made up” outfits and just focusing on natural, light and easy style and molding my inspiration from art. This summer will definitely include a new outlook on fashion and how everyday life isn’t as glamorous as it is made out to be. Since I’m back home in Philadelphia, capturing my image of a Fashionista/o wandering around this lively city is going to be amazing and honestly unpredictable.
What makes this a remarkable experience is that you see my love for writing and fashion through my eyes. Look forward to some #RAD Philadelphia street style!
