Hey! My name is Iona and I just finished my first year of university in New York City, so I’m feeling energized, inspired and creative as ever. I love to travel and have lived in London, Paris and New York. A few of the most fashionable places I’ve been to include Copenhagen, Cape Town, Tokyo and Sydney. I like to think that I’ve picked up a few style tricks and tips throughout my travels, which I’ll definitely be sharing throughout my posts. My style is a great representation of where I’ve been and where I want to go.
For me, fashion is a wonderful way to channel my thoughts, past experiences, and ideas into a more physical form. I love taking inspiration from movies, classic novels and other forms of art and incorporating those details into how I dress. This means a lot of my looks are inspired by the likes of Wes Anderson colour schemes and Edgar Degas artwork. My biggest fashion icons include Audrey Hepburn, Wednesday Adams, Alexa Chung and Jane Fonda in Barbarella.
I also like keeping a look simple (like some classic Calvin Klein jeans) but adding one or two wow elements like a vintage purse or a brooch. Interesting shoes are always a great way to keep my look in a balance of classic and innovative style. But overall, my ideal look is chic, unique, and très cool.
In addition to fashion, music plays a huge role in my life, and definitely intertwines with how I view fashion, art, and life itself! So if I’m not writing or talking about clothes, you can find me singing on my loop machine or playing the piano.
