Most fantasize about living the life of luxury and dressing to not only feel confident, but to impress. Such a lifestyle can be costly, and many believe that designer brands are the only way to achieve such a spectacular look. Hi, I’m Isabel, a rising sophomore at Drexel University, and a first-time Style Guru. I am so excited to not only showcase my personal style, but also document what others are wearing in the City of Brotherly Love.
College is the time where many find their niche and begin to express themselves through their appearance. Personally, I prefer minimalistic clothing complemented with something extravagant and unique. For the look shown above, I have mixed both affordable and trendy clothing with a hint of extravagance. Pairing a Brandy Melville tank top with a pair of understated Free People white floral pants create both simplicity and a touch of elegance. Accessorizing an outfit is a great way to make an outfit pop. A body chain from Etsy and a simple gold necklace from Tiffany & Co. frame the body and face, as well as add a touch of sparkle. Arm candy is a great way to distinguish one’s style, and layering different metals really makes one’s wrist catch the eyes of those passing by.
Bags, sunglasses and shoes are an necessity. From elaborate leather bags to $20 sunglasses, an outfit is only as good as the person wearing it. In this look, I am using an A.L.C cross-body bag, oversized black aviators purchased from Amazon.com, and VINCE python skate sneakers. Keeping those three things uniform in color make the look come together flawlessly.
So remember Fashionistas, looking like a million bucks can be achieved with the simplest of clothing and with great accessories.
