Hey everyone! I’m Isabela Vazquez. I am a freshman at St. Mary’s University and am en route to becoming an English major. I am so thrilled to be a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista and to have an legitimate excuse to take photos of people.
In my life, I have always really loved fashion photography, writing, reading, and editing. As an English major I have a chance to do the writing, reading, and editing but now I am so glad to, finally, have the opportunity to do fashion photography. I have a collection of Vogues from across the globe on my bookshelves.
The most exciting thing for me to see in fashion is the representation and usage of different cultures and ethnicities in a respectful way. While working this semester with CollegeFashionista my goal is to find ways to highlight people from different backgrounds so the rest of the world can see that there is beauty in every corner.
My personal style is quite minimalist. I tend to keep to a grayscale with pops of red in my lips or nails. I do have a soft spot for stripes and plaid because they’re very laid back and easy to style with other things. I love a good blazer and combining different textures in my outfits because it keeps it interesting. And something I am quite known for are my sunglasses. I always have them on—sometimes without even realizing it.
What I am wearing in this look is very signature me. It’s grayscale. It’s casual but still edgy with the blazer. Since I am always running around campus, I have adopted a pair of lace- up oxfords as my signature shoe. And since I live in Texas where the sun shines even when it rains, I have my wayfarer sunglasses on. The final touch for any outfit of mine is my red lipstick. With that, I am always looking good while being casual.
