Hey fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Isabella Corrales and this is my first semester as a Style Guru. I was born in Stamford, Connecticut and grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. I am an rising sophomore at the University of Delaware majoring in Fashion Merchandising. I have always loved fashion, but it took me a while to realize that I wanted to make a career out of it. It wasn’t until my freshman year of high school that I realized that a career in fashion was the perfect fit for me. Once I entered my sophomore year of high school, I began taking pre-college courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and I absolutely loved them! Ever since I took these classes, my love for fashion has grown more and more.
If I had to describe my style it would be a little bit of everything mixed together. I’m basically all over the place when it comes to style and fashion. If you were to look at my closet you would see that my clothing ranges over a bunch of different styles. I am not the type of person to have a set style. When I shop, I am very open to all different types of clothes that show off my personality.
I think accessorizing is very important. I love wearing bracelets and I am obsessed with wearing layered necklaces, just like the ones pictured over my blue T-shirt dress. This dress is one of my favorite pieces of clothing because it is easy to wear in any season. In the winter I wear it with tights, combat boots and a sweater, but during the summer or fall, I wear the dress with sandals, which makes the outfit weather appropriate. I like to keep my outfits simple, but to add a bit more flare to this outfit I added a felt hat; you can find one just like it at H&M. Shoes are very important when picking out what to wear because they help to tie the outfit together; that’s why I paired my outfit with my favorite pair of Steve Madden sandals.
What I love about fashion is that in the fashion world, as years go by so do the current years styles. There are always new and exciting trends that are thrown into society. I am beyond thrilled to show you guys all the great fashion trends/finds that I uncover around my campus this semester!
