Hello! I’m Isabella Tam, born and raised in San Francisco. Currently, I am majoring in public relations and advertising and minoring in graphic design at DePaul University in Chicago. Just as communication is vital in public relations, fashion is an anchor in my life. I believe there is no better form of self-expression than fashion, and as Rachel Zoe said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”
As a young child, I remember riffling through my mother’s collection of Harper’s Bazaar magazines and strutting around the living room in her black pointed toe pumps. Although my shoe size has changed, my love of fashion has stayed the same. When Fashion Week rolls around, I can be found endlessly watching live streams of the new collections. Some of my favorite designers include Alber Elbaz, Donatella Versace and Jason Wu. For daily fashion inspiration, I look to my favorite models: Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Taylor Hill.
My go-to style is a mixture of edgy and laid back, and black is the predominant color of my wardrobe. Yet, there are the occasional splashes of color, and I’m always willing to try out new trends. As my mother taught me, basics are the foundation of every outfit. I believe no one can go wrong with the T-shirt and leather jacket combination, so I never go anywhere without them.
Whether I’m on the ‘L’ in Chicago or walking around the Ferry Building in San Francisco, I am always searching for fashion inspiration. I am constantly discovering new style tips and tricks, and I hope to never stop.
