Hey, Fashionistas/os! I hope you all had a relaxing summer and are ready to start this semester off on a stylish note! My name is Jacquelyn Kaiser, and I am thrilled to be returning as a Style Guru for my third semester! I am a sophomore at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where I am majoring in fashion merchandising. The campus overlooks the Hudson River, resulting in breathtaking sunsets and an abundance of photos. The close proximity to New York City is also an added bonus, as fashion students are often provided with amazing internship and volunteer opportunities at fashion companies and showrooms. New York City is one of my favorite places, and I hope to live and work there someday!
I love fashion, photography and writing, so when I heard about CollegeFashionista my freshman year, I knew I wanted to apply! At college, I am involved in many clubs and activities, such as Fashion Inc, Photography Club and the Peer Mentor Program. Some of my other hobbies include tennis, baking and shopping! Urban Outfitters, American Eagle Outfitters and Express are some of my go-to stores!
My weekdays this summer consisted of a merchandising internship at the dressbarn headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey. This was a very rewarding experience that taught me all about the buying position and how multiple departments work together in a corporate office. While I was not dressing business casual at my internship, on the weekends I loved to visit New York City and sport my street style. I love the cool and casual vibe of denim, striped tops and sneakers. As the hot, summer days dwindle down, it is time to start looking for some fall fashion inspiration. In this look, I am wearing a pair of distressed skinny jeans, a loose top and a long, gold necklace. I also throw on a pair of black slip-on sneakers and grab a studded cross-body bag.
As much as I love summer, there is something about fall (who doesn’t love a pair of brown leather boots or a soft circle scarf) that brings a feeling of excitement in the air. I am looking forward to capturing some of the coolest fall trends this semester! Be on the lookout for my first article coming in a few weeks! Have a great start to the semester and, as always, stay RAD!
