New semester, same Jailyn. Well, for the most part. For those of you who do not know me I am Jailyn Poindexter and am a sophomore at Drexel University. My first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista was definitely one to remember as I found my writing style and got to meet tons of amazing people. My love for shoes is unwavering and I get a gleam in my eye at the mere thought of fall separates. I have no doubt this semester will certainly be a great one.
Over the years, my favorite season for fashion has changed multiple times, finally settling on fall. Maybe it’s the change in atmosphere or maybe it’s not, but there is something about fall fashion that possesses a sense of sophistication that resonates with me. Cooler temperatures welcome the wonderful world of outerwear, after a busy summer of work-filled days and fun-filled nights. This fall, my style is leaning towards more Earth tones, with a stand out lip or defining smokey eye. My goal this semester is to have my beauty routine and style to work harmoniously so that I am looking and feeling my best.
Though I have a serious appreciation for dresses I have trouble pulling them off, so my new compromise is to add an oversized knit to an outfit that may seem dull. knits can be super fun and comfortable which is definitely a plus for those early morning classes soon to come. Throw on a chunky heel and some jewelry and you can go anywhere knowing that you radiate confidence.
Confidence is a look I always want to achieve, and if you look confident then you’re bound to be confident. Keep this in mind as you go forward this academic year and just know I’ve got your back with all of the latest and greatest fashion advice from college students like yourself.
