Hello to all my fashion lovers out there! My name is Jake Finch; you might know me from my blog “Cause We’re Preppy.” I am currently studying at Dean College to be a dancer, but a stylish one! I am so excited to be a Style Guru this spring and to show you all what I have to offer!
I was born and raised in a little town called Morris, Connecticut. Never heard of it? No one has, you’re not the first. Growing up where I’m from was not the easiest for me. In this part of Connecticut it’s all farm land. Have you seen Orange is the New Black? That prison is based off of one in Connecticut. Ever seen what the outside of the prison and town looks like in the show? That’s what I am dealing with. I had to get out of town! Where else better to go than two hours away from the Big Apple? My style would have to be “Prep meets Upper West Side.” One day you’ll see me in a bow-tie, the next day you’ll see me in black jeans, a flannel and beanie with some piercings.
Getting to know Jake: First thing first is that I am always doing something! Whether it’s grabbing lunch with friends or catching the T and going into Boston for a shopping spree; you’ll never find me at home. I always have a Starbucks coffee (five shots of espresso over ice with soy milk in a venti cup) with my iPad in my bag ready to write down any ideas I have for a blog post. I’m a gold card member, and you can find me there a few times a day. I also am always at a J.Crew! Seeing how I work for them. I am either there styling someone or creating a new outfit for myself. My favorite TV shows would be Rupaul’s Drag Race, All the Real Housewives and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
The famous “Jake Look” would have to be black skinny jeans, buffalo pattern flannel, black vest, a nice pair of suede loafers from ALDO and a nice Micheal Kors watch. I love watches (especially a nice Michael Kors or Rolex watch) to the moon and back and a nice pair of black sunglasses (preferably Ray-Ban).
