Hey all you wonderful Fashionistas/os! My name is Janée Barbre, and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I’m currently a senior at the University of North Florida. My major is communications with a focus in public relations and I love to write!
I have big dreams and high hopes. In the future, I plan to work in the public relations department for one of my favorite magazines—Essence or People StyleWatch. I spend my spare time thumbing through the pages of fashion magazines. I’m obsessed and I have a huge collection of them.
CollegeFashionista is the perfect site for me to publish my writing, and I can’t wait to interact with fellow Style Gurus. I’m very excited about this opportunity and really looking forward to growing as a writer. I look forward to improving my photography and social media skills as well.
I have always loved fashion, but took a keen interest in my personal style while I was a junior in high school. Since then I’ve experimented with tons of trends, but I’ve now discovered what I like and what works for me. The best part about being so self-aware when it comes to my style is shopping. I know what I want and what my wardrobe needs!
I love a good pair of heels, and yes, I sport them on campus. People may look at me crazy, but I believe in being fabulous 24/7. I switch it up with a pair of Converse or chic sandals here and there. Killer accessories complete my every look. Getting dressed is probably my favorite part of the day!
In addition to fashion and writing, I have a passion skincare. Clear, healthy skin is key. I’m pretty new to the whole makeup thing, but I adore matte lipstick. Bold colors really seal the deal for me, and give my outfits some extra sass. My favorite brands are Milani and ColourPop.
I can’t wait to share my content with you guys, and again I’m so grateful for having this opportunity.
