Hey Fashionista/os! I’m Janice Koo and I’m currently a first-year student at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.
The various fashion and beauty gurus that I obsessively watched on YouTube first sparked my interest in fashion and beauty. It was through these videos in which I was able to view numerous fashion trends and styles.
Coming from the busy suburbs of Los Angeles, I was in for a bit of a shock at first when coming to the small town of Northampton. However, despite the size of the city, Northampton is filled with a diverse variety of fashion styles and trends.
My own personal style is a mix of laid back and casual chic. On campus, one can find me wearing everything from Chelsea boots and one of my (way too many) striped shirts to my favorite pair of Dr. Martens and an oversized flannel. From time to time, one is able to see the influence of the West Coast-relaxed style on my outfits.
Fashion is not merely a trend in the latest clothing styles but is a way for people to outwardly express their personality. There is no specific set of rules that one has to follow but instead can do and wear whatever they desire. I am excited to start this journey with you all and hope that what I write will serve as an inspiration to display and show off your own unique individuality through clothing. Until next time!
