STYLE GURU BIO: Jenna Tipple

If you’re reading this, I love you. In all seriousness, I really appreciate all who take the time out of their day to check out my articles. For those who don’t know me, my name is Jenna Tipple, and I attend the University of Wisconsin in Madison—my hometown and all-time favorite city in the world. When classes resume in a week (sad face) I will officially be a sophomore here pursuing a degree in Retailing and Consumer Science. This will be my second semester as a Style Guru, and I am more excited now than ever to be highlighting fall fashion here in the 608.

Autumn is most definitely my favorite season for multiple reasons: the fashion, apple season, Badger football games and my birthday. Although apples, football, and celebrating my day of birth hold a special place in my heart, fall fashion is without a doubt one of the best parts about this favorite season of mine. I’ve always said that I have better style in the cool, autumn months as I’m more of a comfy jeans and a sweater type of gal. I’m eager to see what other Fashionistas and Fashionistos will be rocking this season, and I’m even more thrilled to be inspired by the new fashion around town as it changes with the leaves on the trees.

When I wake up in the morning and stare endlessly (and sometimes hopelessly) at my closet, my eyes are always drawn to my favorite, comfy staple items that I own. My fashion sense in the cooler months is all about comfort and staying cozy, so nine times out of ten you will see me wearing an outfit almost identical to this. This Free People sweater is extremely soft and versatile, making it an ideal investment especially for the fall. Another great staple piece in my closet are these black jeans. They are super stretchy and, of course, go with almost anything and for that reason. My roommates and I have developed a sort of sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pants thing with them!

If you were to unravel this scarf, it’s surprisingly shaped like a giant square, so really you can use it as a scarf of various styles or even a blanket in your time of desperation. Many people have mistaken it for last season’s coveted Zara blanket scarf. However, I found this gem at a Nordstrom Rack for a steal, making it one of my most prized possessions. These Forever 21 booties are another bargain-buy trophy of mine, and I know I will be wearing them on the regular these next few months.

During these past few months as a Style Guru I have seen such a wide variety of great fashion. I love learning about others’ personal styles because to me that’s an emanation of their personality and lifestyle in the most creative way. Stay tuned this fall as I document all the wonderful personal styles that Madisonians have to offer.
