Hi! My name is Jen Dean. I am a native New Yorker. I was born in the city, then moved to Long Island where I grew up in Lynbrook, just 40 minutes outside of the city. I am going into my sophomore year of college as a transfer student to the Fashion Institute of Technology where I will be studying Textile Development and Marketing for my Associate’s degree. I am an only child, and I live at home with my parents and my adorable dog. My boyfriend, of two years, is going to be a senior at SUNY Maritime.
All throughout high school, I knew I wanted to attend FIT one day. My high school fashion class teacher is an FIT Alumni, and she introduced the school to me at first. After that, my friend and I took weekend pre-college courses at FIT. After a rough first year of figuring out college I am eager to finally start my journey at FIT. I am looking forward to everything that going to school in the city has to offer.
Perks of growing up in New York is being so close to all the great fashion and culture (and pizza) the city has to offer. I will definitely say that I am a foodie. I love trying new things; though pizza and sushi will always be my favorites. I also love to read; it is one of my favorite things to do. I am constantly looking for more books to add to list of “must reads.”
As far as my style, I often stick to wearing black, white and grey; sometimes with a pop of color. My favorite place to shop is Lord & Taylor. My favorite accessories are pocketbooks and jewelry.
