Hi fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Jennifer Spencer and I am one of the newest Style Guru interns here at CollegeFashionista. I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my style and my passion with others, while learning valuable skills that will help me grow in the fashion and blogging world. Fashion is, and will always be a part of me, so I have decided to turn it into a career. I am currently a second year at University of California – San Diego, and majoring in communications with an international relations and business minor. I hope to graduate in three years because I am just ready to take on the real world, start graduate school and begin my career. People say I’m crazy for wanting to jump into the real world, but I am very excited for what the future will hold. I’ll hopefully have a career that I love, so why wait? My goal is to get a job in international marketing for a large fashion brand because traveling for a career just seems like the most amazing opportunity. What better career than doing what you love everyday and getting paid for it!
Fashion has always been a passion of mine, whether it’s watching reruns of last years spring fashion shows, or catching up on my favorite bloggers on my free time. I am always keeping up on the latest trends and making sure I am all caught up in the fashion world. However, something that is more important to me, is my personal style. Rachel Zoe once said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” It’s true, your style is your first impression before you go to shake a person’s hand, it can either help you or hurt you, and in the end, it does give people a glimpse of who you are. Having your own style and being confident in it, is an amazing accomplishment because it lets you not conform to “the latest trend” or your towns latest fad. It allows you to look and feel amazing regardless of what others say, and this to me is so important.
I would say my style is trendy, girly, classy and glam. This includes a lot of sparkle, pink, leather and blazers. A weird combo, I know, but together they form something great. My hot pink sleeveless blazer I am wearing in the photos is definitely one of my go-to’s, not necessarily this color, but I have a few different ones that help dress an outfit up if it’s a little bland or just add to the dimension. These leather leggings are another go-to piece for me because being in college the temptation to slip on a pair of leggings everyday is huge, so these give an outfit a little flair and make a turtleneck sweater instantly chic. And of course, don’t forget to add a little sparkle!
