Hi friends! My name is Jennifer but a lot of my friends call me Jenn. I’m currently a second year student at the University of California, Riverside, and I am so excited to join the CollegeFashionista team as a Style Guru.
My hobbies include singing, dancing and playing the piano (which does not necessarily mean I am actually good at any of those things). I also dabble in modeling and enjoy performing music within the Vietnamese community. I am fluent in both English and Vietnamese. In fact, the Vietnamese culture is a significant influence in my life and in my fashion choices. Besides these things, I like graphic designing, eating pizza, sleeping in and binge-watching TV shows on Netflix.
At UCR, its easy to tell that fashion is not a priority. You’ll find that most students roam around campus wearing sweats and some sneakers (which is totally okay if that is your sense of style), which is something I’m guilty of doing when I get lazy. When you haven’t slept in 2 days because you have a midterm in an hour, and instant ramen and easy mac have been your only forms of sustenance over the past week, the last thing on your mind is stuffing your feet in a cute pair of heels and slipping into that adorable romper you bought last week. Though finals will always come before fashion, I find that when I wear clothes that are comfortable, cute and truly express my sense of style, I am confident, focused and at ease. So to me, fashion is finding a manageable way to wear something that expresses my style daily, while not compromising my time or my budget.
In these pictures I am wearing my most comfortable joggers, a cute bandage crop top and a fun variety of rings.
Thanks for reading my bio and I hope you join me again in the future as I explore all that UCR’s Fashionistas and Fashionistos have to offer.
