Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Jerrica and I’m super excited to share my love of fashion and trends with you for the summer! Summer is my absolute favorite season and studying fashion trends is one of my favorite pastimes while on break.
I’m a junior Broadcast Journalism major at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. Here in Memphis there are so many exciting things going on from great music, tasty food to exploration. However, fashion is never recognized as much as it should be.
Last semester I got the chance to cover Memphis Fashion Week and it was an amazing experience! It really opened my eyes to the growing fashion scene here and I hope that my work with CollegeFashionista will add to that. Plus, we get an H&M this summer!
My love for fashion has blossomed into an interest in trends, ways to be innovative in the fashion industry and how the business realm of fashion works. As for my personal style, it’s a mix of trends, silhouettes and accessories to create a look that can range from preppy, to trendy, to romantic. I love to follow big brands like Revolve Clothing, local boutiques and stay in the know with fashion news sites. I’m also a girl who loves a good deal so I’m always roaming Forever 21, H&M and Target.
Everyone has their own individual style, and I’m automatically drawn to those who don’t care about the rules or what’s “in.” Ultimately, fashion is what you make it. When you get dressed you should feel confident and love the way you look and to me that is what fashion is truly about.
