Hey Fashionista/os! My name is Jess Zucker and I’m so excited to be starting my internship with CollegeFashionista! I’m a rising senior studying fashion merchandising at the University of Delaware.
I have been a Fashionista since the day I was born with my love for dresses and all things sparkly. I was always the kid strutting my stuff in a puffy princess costume and my mother’s heels. With the exception of a brief tomboy phase (it was a rough time) I have been a fashion lover ever since.
I am always told that my style is unique which I take as a compliment. I’m a firm believer that a leather jacket is always necessary, a dress should be worn for all occasions and sparkles complete every outfit. My style is all over the place but it’s mine, and that’s why I love it. I believe in dressing for myself and no one else. Fashion is an art and a form of expression where no one can say if it is right or wrong. If I am feeling tough and edgy one day, I throw on a cool black leather jacket and some studded boots I turn into the toughest person in the world. And if the next day I have decided to be fun and flirty, a little dress and some heels reflects my mood. All of my life experiences contribute to my ever-changing style and influence it every day.
Currently I am mourning the tragic loss of my semester abroad in London, reliving my favorite fashion moments. Living in London provided me with many opportunities to travel the world, introducing me to many new chic trends. Seeing people from around the world inspired me to incorporate their unique styles into my own. Much of my style inspiration came from people watching. The streets were everyone’s runway and beautiful outfits could be seen anywhere from walking along the Themes to riding on the Tube. Studying in London gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about the fashion world and I am excited to share my experience with all of my readers!
While trying to settle back into suburban life, I am spending time blowing my college student budget on clothes, binge watching everything on Netflix and hanging out with the loves of my life, my dogs. I am excited to share my fashion obsession with my readers and hopefully inspire other Fashionistas along the way! Stay tuned for style advice, inspiration and lame puns coming at you straight from the suburbs!
