Hello everyone! I’m Jessie and it is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I attend San Francisco State University where I am majoring in business marketing.
I’ve always loved fashion and fully intend to base my career in the fashion world. CollegeFashionista is a wonderful opportunity to build my resume, and I’m excited to see where it takes me!
My wardrobe is full of neutrals; I wear a ton of black, gray and white, with the occasional olive, burgundy and navy thrown in. I’m obsessed with dresses and easily have 20 of them. If I had to choose one type of footwear to wear for the rest of my life, I would choose black boots, as I wear boots with just about everything. The weather in San Francisco prevents me from wearing any summer clothes such as shorts, so I have a rather impressive collection of jeans and coats.
My go-to pair of bottoms is always a super high-waisted jean. I like my jeans to be skin-tight and in a neutral, simple color such as black or dark blue because they go with everything. A ribbed tank with lace-up detail pairs well with a classic denim jacket, giving the look a cool, casual feel. When accessorizing, I usually keep my jewelry simple with some tiny stud earrings and a basic ring. Finally, no outfit is considered complete in my eyes without—you guessed it—an awesome pair of black leather boots! I typically love having some sort of a heel on my footwear because I’m 5’1″ and would like to appear a bit taller.
I don’t worry too much about adding a pop of color to my typically neutral outfits because of my vibrant hair color and obsession with deep lipsticks. I believe that if I wear too many colors at once, I risk looking very busy and even clown-like.
I’m a very busy girl working two jobs as a full-time student. I love taking up extra challenges—such as CollegeFashionista!—and rarely have time to be lazy or unproductive. I’m looking forward to this summer as a Style Guru and the opportunities that will come with it.
