Hello, beautiful readers! My name is Jessica Tam and I’m currently a sophomore at San Diego State University! I’m majoring in general business as of now! My lovely hometown is near Chicago, Illinois. I might be a little crazy for wanting to be so far away from my family, but I have been loving every second in San Diego! I am absolutely thrilled to have been given this opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team as a Style Guru.
I have always had that passion for fashion. Growing up, my style has always varied; I would go from super preppy, to wearing flower patterns on almost everything, to always having some piece of clothing with bright pastel colors, to being a total hipster getting my hands on anything that came from a thrift store. My friends always made a comment on how I would go through different phases. Now, being 19 years old, I finally figured it out—my style all depends on how I feel either that day, week or even that month! Some days I get a grunge vibe and I throw on some ripped up black jeans and a loose T-shirt with combat boots. Other days I feel like frolicking in a garden with a bright, flower-patterned dress. Also, I realized how open-minded I have become with fashion. Being a stylist at a boutique back in the Chicago area made me realize that every girl has a different preference. At first, I would style them to whatever appealed to me,however, they might not like it. I learned to adjust, get out of my comfort zone and discovered different pieces that uniquely go well together.
