Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Jillian James and I am a Style Guru from the University of Central Florida. This is my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am currently an English major with a minor in journalism. My hobbies include reading, writing, being involved with my sorority and showing strangers pictures of my dog. I can’t wait to show you all the amazing trendsetters here at UCF.
Floridians have a very unique perspective on style and there is always someone walking across campus wearing a great outfit. Shorts are worn year round and loud, bright colors always make an appearance. UCF is the second largest college in the nation and there definitely isn’t a shortage on style at this campus.
Over the summer I worked for my school’s newspaper as a reporter. It definitely influenced the way I dress. Comfort and functionality was key, but I also loved integrating unexpected elements into my outfits. I would wear Converse with a shift dress or wear a blazer over a t-shirt and shorts. For this outfit, I wore a white dress and paired it with a bright pair of sneakers for a pop of color.
I would describe my personal style as being boho chic. I will buy any dress with a bell sleeve and love a good floral pattern. I am also currently watching Sex and the City and have been incredibly inspired by the amazing outfits on the show. I love how Carrie has the confidence to pull off any look.
