Hello again, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Joanna Del Priore and I am a junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. In May, I received my associate’s degree in fashion merchandising and am now pursuing a Bachelor of Science in fashion business management with liberal arts minors in math and economics. This is a very exciting year for me as this semester marks my second year writing for CollegeFashionista. I am truly excited and blessed to continue blogging for one of my favorite websites!
Growing up in Staten Island, New York, I have always been grateful to have the borough Manhattan in my backyard. I remember admiring fashions from afar when I would venture into the city as a child. Coming from a visual arts background, I’ve always envisioned myself in a creative, hands-on career that would greatly work my artistic talents. With my love for a large urban city and passion for the arts, I knew that FIT was an ideal school for my interests. Although I decided to pursue business management rather than fine arts or design, I tend to wear colorful, fun and unique clothing that appeals to the eye of an artist.
In this look, I sport a vibrant, floral jacquard top. This piece allows me to choose corresponding apparel, footwear and accessories to showcase my genuine fashion sense. With that in mind, I decided to wear light-wash ripped denim with multi-colored sandals. The lighter jean complements the vivid hues up top as the bedazzled sandals match the lively print. Less is not more in my case, as none of my outfits are completed without accessories. I topped my outfit with off a color-coordinating statement necklace, silver bangles, large stud earrings, Valentino sunglasses and a large Coach tote bag to carry my belongings to and from campus. I also added a white lace kimono to play up the lighter tones and patterns.
I am looking forward to sharing new and innovative trends right off of West 27th Street, and the rest of  New York City, with you all. Stayed tuned for my fashion and beauty articles that will post at the beginning of each month. In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of your summer break and start the fall semester off on a high note!
