Hello! My name is Joomi Park, and I am a second year Advertising and Marketing Communications major at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I grew up in good old Georgia, where exploring my interests in fashion would usually get me a few odd looks and my mother would feign embarrassment when we went out in public. (Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?). Now that I look back, there were definitely days when I committed a fashion faux pas, but I wore it all with pride. This has really allowed me to find my style and sort out who I am today.
If I had to categorize my style, I would very broadly say grunge. Usually, if a shirt says 666 on it, I’m probably wearing it. Like most people, I am infatuated with the iconic black, so my closet lives a pretty bleak life. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my girly/preppy/lazy days and can appreciate pops of color here and there. I’m slowly learning how to incorporate more color; hopefully I will be able to learn a thing or two from my fellow Style Gurus and Fashionistas/os.
This look is my favorite right now, and it’s such an easy transition piece for the fall. Although the shirt’s vintage striped design is the main focus, the rest of the outfit has its own flair that brings this look together. You can recreate this by stomping around in these UNIF Heathers Boots (so RAD), donning these American Apparel Disco Pants and throwing on these Forever 21 mirrored sunglasses.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my article! I am pumped and determined to bring you guys interesting content from the outfits of amazing Fashionistas/os.
