STYLE GURU BIO: Julia Levin

Greetings fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Welcome to my bio. I am a sophomore at Indiana University pursuing a major in Marketing and a minor in Apparel Merchandising.  I am originally from Elmhurst, IL, a suburb of the great city of Chicago.

Fashion has been a driving force in my life for as long as I can remember; possibly even longer. As a youngster, my mom kept me pretty stylish which indubitably fed into my fashion addiction. My love for fashion only grew stronger as I got older.

For better or for worse, I’ve gotten into the habit of meticulously planning out my outfits everyday, and this is an important routine for me. Fashion is an excellent way to express your emotions and uniqueness; something that anyone can take part in.  If you’re feelin’ yourself on the outside, you’re bound to exude more confidence from within. After all, I truly believe the most important person you can dress for is yourself.

My personal style is quite eclectic, ranging from boho-inspired looks to ’90s grunge attire to structured, preppy ensembles.  My tastes are ever-changing and constantly evolving, however, I do like to add a bit of edge to everything I wear.  Whether it be a leather jacket, my beloved Doc Martens, or a simple choker, I strive to incorporate a signature touch into every look.  Side note: I am a strong supporter of Dr. Martens. If your feet are in pain, you’re probably not wearing Docs. Well, either that or your heels are too fly for you to care, which I can also respect.

This is my first semester blogging for CollegeFashionista and I am super jazzed to share my style and the inspiring Fashionistas and Fashionistos on my campus with the rest of you. Check back on the first of each month for a new post!
