Hello, fashionable readers! My name is Julia Suarez, and right now I’m studying Political Science and Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame. This summer is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and since I love writing and meeting new people, I’m so happy to have this new opportunity.
I feel the need to tell you a secret that you probably already know. Okay, so we’ll just share the secret. When you’re an introvert, red lipstick, harem pants and even statement earrings can be extremely intimidating, because even though you want to look amazing, looking great makes people look at you. I’ve always been a little scared to make myself noticeable, and that’s exactly why I decided to write for CollegeFashionista. Since I first came across the website, I’ve been so impressed by the people featured here who aren’t afraid to stand out in a crowd. They’ve inspired me to make bolder fashion choices and stand by them, and I’ve started to embrace bright colors, heels and accessories much more than I used to.
I’m from the suburbs of Washington, D.C., where fashion means pantsuits and cufflinks, so I don’t see adventurous outfits too often. But if you’re also new to fashion, let’s venture into the unknown together! I know it’s time for me to take my style out of my Pinterest boards and into real life, and I think I’m up for the challenge.
