Hi everyone! My name is Julianne Cavanaugh and I am a senior at James Madison University studying public relations. This is my second semester as a Stlye Guru and I am so excited to get to continue my fashionable journey with CollegeFashionista this fall!
There is nothing I love more than sitting in my bed and getting to tear through the newest fashion magazines. There is nothing better than that new clothes feeling and loving the outfit you put on! Shopping and Pinterest are two of my favorite past times. I’ve come to realize that even if I don’t buy something, fashion and clothes just makes me happier! I think that fashion gives you the tools to be whoever you want to be and even since I was a child, I loved getting to dress the way I wanted.
In the past, I have interned in fashion public relations with Karla Otto. But this summer, I was an intern in New York City for a beauty public relations firm called MediaCraft. Whenever I was walking around looking for people to photograph, I always found a wide range of different styles to choose from. I am excited to see how taking pictures at my own school’s campus will be different. I’ve noticed that while I am from New York, my style has completely changed since moving down to Virginia for school. Walking around campus has always been a source of inspiration to me because someone is always wearing something unique that I can recreate in my own way!
My style is a little bit of everything, but I love gold jewelry and retro looking sunglasses. To get a look like the one above, grab some cut-offs, a trendy crop top and your converse!
I think, like the fashion industry, your own personal style is always changing. I plan to make this semester at CollegeFashionista not only about the fabulous clothes I see that my fellow Dukes wearing around campus, but also the importance of individuality and dressing in what makes you feel good!
