Hi guys! My name is Julie Rajman and I’ll be writing from the University of Delaware this semester! I’m going into my sophomore year, majoring in Fashion Merchandising and minoring in Advertising.
Here’s a little backstory on me. I was raised on Long Island, New York, which gave me easy access to New York City. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with the culture and lifestyles of New Yorkers. Growing up, I was often exposed to the diverse fashion in the city and that left me inspired by the way people dressed.
Constantly spending time in a big city helped me discover new music. I’m addicted to going to concerts and it’s become a serious problem for my bank account!! I always have a concert lined up or an event I’m interested in and that’s led me to have some really cool experiences and make amazing friends.
Combining my love for music and fashion has opened up doors to different kinds of events. I always enjoy seeing the way people dress at these events and become intrigued to try new things. I’ve found so many new styles and expanded my wardrobe.
When I’m not roaming the streets of the city or hanging out with my friends, I’m probably binge watching Netflix, making Spotify playlists and watching YouTube videos. I’ve become consumed with social media and I’m constantly finding new bloggers to follow and hoping my Instagram pictures could be half as cool as theirs.
My roommate likes to describe my go-to style as a flannel shirt, band T-shirt and skinny jeans, but I believe my style is a toss-up based on my mood. I tend to wear a mix of ‘90s grunge and edgy items, but I also like to keep things classic and chic. My style is always evolving which is why I’m so excited to explore all the different types of styles at UD!
Over the summer, I worked at Free People, which is where I got this great white button-down. As my roommate claims, I live in ripped jeans and my favorite pair is from Topshop. The booties I’m wearing are no longer available, but here’s a similar pair that can complete any outfit! They’re my favorite part of this outfit because they’re a really great statement piece.
I’m so excited to see what this semester brings as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
