Hey Fashionistas! My name is Jungsuh Kim and I am a rising senior at Fordham University, studying English and political science. I’ve lived in NYC for most of my life and found myself constantly inspired by trendsetters on the streets. This summer, I’ll be heading to the nation’s capital to work for a leadership conference program geared towards inspiring high school students. I’m intrigued to discover the styles that are common in DC.
As a New Yorker, I find myself drawn more towards neutral and minimalistic styles than anything else. In fact, it’s highly likely that you’ll find me sporting all-black in my day-to-day endeavors. If I had to describe my style in three words it would be classic, edgy and sophisticated.
When it comes to expanding my personal style, I’m quite open-minded. Summer is the season where I’m most likely to experiment with colors and patterns. While I may not sport a bright neon colored dress anytime soon, I like to incorporate a bit of color in my wardrobe like this cross-body bag. Mixing feminine and masculine styles has always been my specialty because of how versatile the look becomes.
My favorite way to mix things up is to wear a flowy, feminine dress with a more structured jacket, like this denim jacket I have on. To top off the look I like to pair it with comfortable shoes, such as sneakers. A nod to the current atheleisure trend, these adidas sneakers are a trendy yet comfy way to do footwear.
Becoming a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me and I look forward to blogging about my various style inspirations. So sit back, relax and follow me as I embark on my style journey for the summer.
