Hey there, my name is Kaitlin Ziesmann and I am a senior at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I am over to moon excited to start my first summer semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I currently work in fashion retail and plan on staying in the industry as I work toward my master’s degree. Although I only have one year left of college (crying inside), I plan on making it the best yet by expanding my tastes and pushing my fashion boundaries. I really hope to use this experience to grow into a better writer, photographer and, along the way, get some epic fashion advice that I can apply to my own closet.
Fashion has always been something I have been obsessed with. I used to have mental breakdowns and completely refuse to go to school if I couldn’t find the perfect outfit. While I have thankfully moved on from those days, I am still super particular about what I wear. I see fashion as the opportunity to present to the world who you really are. Fashion is art – and the best kind because you get to wear it on your body! People underestimate how empowering it can be to walk into a room and know you look amazing. For me, it is the best high in the world.
I think I have a unique combination of styles that blends bohemian with edgy rocker. You will usually see me in black or neutral colors, and it will 100 percent be something comfy. For this look, I paired a graphic T-shirt and black jeans with my everyday booties. These shoes have become a staple in my wardrobe because they go with everything and are comfortable enough that I can wear them all night without any pain. Plus, they are on-trend with the perforated texture. I have also been known to rock bold lip colors. I think it is a great little pop of color that can make you stand out in the crowd. The classic red lip works well with this black-and-white themed outfit. I added silver accessories and my favorite fringe bag to round out the outfit.
I cannot wait to share my life and closet with you all summer long! Keep checking back monthly for new and exciting posts!
