Hi there! My name Kaitlyn Spratt and I am a freshman at the University of St. Thomas. I am double majoring in English and women’s studies.
I am a student, writer, stylist, amateur baker, and vintage dress collector. But my two main passions in life are writing and fashion. Currently, I write for The Odyssey and Society19 which are both online college publications written for students. My writings reflect my interest in social justice issues, as well as my passion for fashion. My article “20 Fall Fashion Must-Haves Under $25” has been pinned on Pinterest over 17,000 times.
My style icons are: Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama, Grace Kelly, and Carrie Bradshaw. I like to define my style as classic with a twist. For instance, I like to wear a classic white button-down paired with a suede skirt or a fit and flare frock with leather detailing. At the same time, I think my style is hard to define. My style can drastically evolve because you’re just as likely to see me donning a lavender lace frock as a black moto jacket. I believe that taking risks is important in fashion. When I bought these jeans, I wasn’t sure I would like them. And I don’t- I love them. But my look is never complete without my favorite matte lipstick. It’s January in Minnesota, so bundling up is necessary and jackets like this make it possible not to sacrifice style for comfort. Fashion should be fun, so I don’t like to take it too seriously.
I am beyond thrilled to be starting my internship with CollegeFashionista! In the future, I hope to continue to hone my writing and editing skills. My life goals are to write for Vogue, publish a book of personal essays, and own a Birkin bag.
