Hi friends! I’m Kali, and I am so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer! I am a student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and I am studying fashion marketing. When I’m not on campus, I’m working at Aerie as a sales lead! My dream job is to work for a company I am passionate about as a social media maven.
I have always turned to social media for my fashion fix. In junior high, I became obsessed with Fashionistas and makeup gurus on YouTube, which grew into an obsession with fashion and style blogs. One of the most influential bloggers I followed was Samantha Maria. I still keep up with her post and she inspired me to create my own style blog.
I also take a lot of style inspiration from my surroundings, whether it is the delicate lace of the bralettes at work or a person I see in a coffee shop. I am always on the lookout for new inspiration. My personal style is forever changing. I am the punky girly girl. One day I’m in all-black with a vampy lip and the next day I’m wearing soft floral prints. I just can’t stick to one style, I love them all!
The first outfit I chose to share with all of you exemplifies my day-to-day style pretty perfectly. I love mixing classic pieces like this leather jacket with a trendy accessory, like this simple black bandana I tied around my neck.
Pittsburgh is not a city that has a reputation for being fashionable. This is a city that loves its sports, but it’s not a city that only wears Steelers and Penguins apparel. I am here to share the stylish people of Pittsburgh through the Fashionistas/os on my campus!
