Oh hey, let me introduce myself. I’m Kalley: a short, blonde, Swedish and Norwegian girl from the land of 10,000 lakes also known as Minnesota. I was previously at the University of Minnesota-Duluth but I am currently a graphic design student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I am absolutely in love with my major, and I am a lover of all things design.
I am a creator/ photographer/ trend-setter/ designer/ Instagram-fanatic/ and goal digger.
I love to go on adventures, especially in my backyard: the gorgeous city of Minneapolis. I love to find cool spots to eat, have photoshoots and enjoy the brisk winter air with people I love. I’m a foodie. Whether its me in my own kitchen whipping up food for my family and friends or it’s exploring what cool restaurants are hidden in the city, I’m there loving every second of it. I have also always been (and will never stop being) that girl who brings her camera everywhere to take pictures of any and everything. Photography really allows me to express myself, and allows me to meet new and fun people along the way.
Fashion is my go-to outlet. I love to express myself through my clothing. I create my own sense of style through fashion and design. My look really changes with the weather, especially since the weather is always changing in Minnesota. I would describe my style as city chic. I look up to and am inspired by blogger Julie Sarinana (@sincerelyjules). She always puts a look together that is classy, yet edgy at the same time which I love. Some of my favorite stores are H&M, Anthropologie, Target and thrift stores! I love experimenting with clothing, seeing which patterns work with what, mixing different styles together and seeing how it all comes together.
The outfit I styled today really captures the softer side of my style. Simplicity is key when it comes to rocking this floor length cardigan. It is such a fun piece to style because it is so bold, yet so simple. I paired it with a striped skater dress to add a little print to the outfit. For accessories I wore two simple gold bracelets that are very delicate, allowing the simplicity to be consistent throughout my look. I also went with a simple gold bar necklace, monogrammed with my first initial. It personalizes my look, yet allows the attention to be drawn to the floppy hat. The floppy hat has been my favorite purchase of 2015 and it really ties this look together. To finish the look, I wore a pair of to-the-knee combat boots and my vintage Coach purse.
I hope to inspire you to go out there, try different things and express yourself in a fashionable way out in our world. XOXO!
