Hello, fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Kara Clay, and I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. I am currently a first semester junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I am majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations with a minor in Textile and Apparel Management. My emphasis area of Public Relations describes my passion for social media and minor in TAM describes my love for fashion.
If you’ve made it this far into my bio, you’re in luck––I’m the girl that rocks the latest trends for the cheapest of prices. Yeah, I’m the girl that walks into a store and goes searching for the big word: “SALE.” That being said, my love for the clearance rack doesn’t go unnoticed. I find it easier to just shop for the random things you like as opposed to trying to fit a certain “style,” kind of like my personality: I love to paint or spend all day making DIY’s. I also love to go on adventures and go out of my comfort zone. My love for everything adventurous lead me to my comfy desired style. Don’t get me wrong though, I love a good pair of heels.
I honestly don’t have a precise aesthetic. I love to buy the things that “won’t compliment your body” and show girls how they can. Fashion will always be a playing field of confidence for me. It’s all about knowing the clothes on your back don’t define who you are, only your mood. For instance, 80 percent of the time during school, I am in my natural “habitat” (sweats and t-shirt). Although that’s like home, when it’s time to go out, I channel my inner Karrueche––Meaning, chic-meets-Kara Clay––because I never know what I can put together from my closet.
Finally, would a CollegeFashionista bio be complete without my favorite fashion bloggers? My favorite fashion bloggers have everything to do with my proportions: I am 5’4 and full of sass like Aleali May also like the colorful skirt and choice of wedges I have on. I also love to express my height through slits like Margaret Zhang also like the lace up body suit, lastly, I’ve got watermelons for boobs so Nadia Aboulhosn is my favorite go to for fashion inspiration. That’s a little bit about me.
Hope you guys enjoy my future articles soon to come, and my unpredictable style!
