Hi, I’m Karla and I’m from Plano, Texas—home of Frito-Lay and Lance Armstrong (he went to my middle and high schools, no big deal). After a very brief stint in the pre-med world, I’m now a senior at the University of North Texas and majoring in Journalism with a minor in Spanish. My career goal, as of now, is to be a publicist in the music or fashion industry, which is probably more fun than medical school applications and residency. In my spare time I enjoy writing, discovering music, and getting emotionally attached to fictional characters on Netflix.
When I’m not rushing to class in a basic but comfy sorority uniform of a Comfort Colors t-shirt and leggings, my style typically consists of staple pieces that can be styled in a multitude of ways. My closet is largely neutral colors with a few standout pieces here and there and versatility has become a way of life. I’m a huge fan of styling my basics with touches of black, leather, and anything with an edge. I love a good boot, chokers, winged liner, and a bold lip.
One of my favorite people is Mandi Line, a costume designer and fashion stylist. I fell in love with her work when I was a 16-year-old, Hollister-wearing, Pretty Little Liars-obsessed teenage girl. I loved the way that she could style the four characters of Pretty Little Liars who were so different, while keeping a consistency throughout the seasons that made it seem as though these characters were in fact, dressing themselves.
I’m no Mandi Line, but my name starts with a K and I share a birthday with Kim Kardashian, so maybe my stuff is worth a read.
