Hey, Fashionistas! I’m Karli and am beyond excited to be a Style Guru this semester! I go to Northeastern University in the gorgeous city of Boston. I am studying business with a concentration in marketing and am hoping to minor in graphic design and global fashion studies. A little ambitious, but I’m going to try to make it all work! While I love a good business talk like the rest of my fellow business majors, I need some creativity in my life, and that’s where fashion comes to play. Fashion is my ultimate outlet. It has been my life since before I can remember.
Fall is approaching and is undoubtedly my favorite season to dress for. This end-of-summer outfit is perfect for a fall transition and describes my style perfectly. I would describe my style as edgy with a pop of fun. I absolutely love my leather and black—like for real, I don’t think I could make an outfit without one of those things. But, I also love to throw in a good surprise. I always think fashion should be fun, and I love to embrace the weird. The dress that I am wearing is uber comfy and adds a little girlyness to the whole ensemble. The jacket—oh my god, I love a good jacket—adds the perfect amount of edge with those amazing laces and was an amazing steal from Urban Outfitters. The bag and shoes I paired with this outfit add that element of surprise that I absolutely love. The bag is a season favorite from Free People and is a statement all on its own. The shoes are also a season favorite and are inspired by a pair of See by Chloé shoes I was swooning over. I love how they give me height without the hurt. All the jewelry I am wearing are my staple pieces. The gold bracelet is from LF. I love it because it has moon cutouts, and the night sky is one of the most calming things to me. The other bracelet is a lucky charm bracelet by Katerina Makriyianni, and I wear it in hopes that it brings me good luck some day because I have the worst luck ever. But hey, maybe this bracelet with bring me all the luck! Finally, the necklace is one of my favorite things ever. It is a gold necklace that says Karli. My aunt gave it to me for my high school graduation, and I wear it everyday and feel like Carrie Bradshaw.
I can’t wait to connect with all of you this fall and be inspired! Best of luck with back to school and be sure to stick with me this semester to see how I make fashion a little less serious!
