Hey, Fashionistas/os! My name is Kasia Kujawski and I am currently a senior at DePaul University, studying Public Relations and Advertising and Organizational Communication. This will be my third—and unfortunately—final semester writing as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. This past semester, I was graced with the opportunity to intern in the Chicago office, alongside Melissa and Sarah, and I also began interning as an editor. Needless to say, I love everything about CollegeFashionista and it has been an amazing experience to see how the company has grown!
This winter, you’ll be hard-pressed to find me wearing anything other than all-black, with the occasional dark color here and there. I strongly believe in the timeless elegance of wearing all-black, as it can make any outfit look incredibly chic. The trick to pulling off head to toe is color-blocking to break up the ensemble with different textures and accessories. I am particularly a fan of statement pieces, like watches or necklaces. One major staple piece in my wardrobe this season has definitely been black leather leggings. Simple yet versatile, these bad boys can take you from a long day of classes to a night out on the town.
Although I’ve found that my style is constantly evolving, I can definitely say that there are a few brands that I swear by, including Gap, kate spade and H&M. Currently, my favorite retailers are T.J.Maxx, Urban Outfitters and Topshop.
I think fashion is definitely one of the finer forms of self-expression, and I am incredibly thankful to have a medium through which I can explore my own personal style, as well as observe and chronicle the style of others around me. I have always loved writing and I have always been interested in fashion. After my undergraduate career, I hope to pursue a career in the fashion industry, ideally in a role that allows me to do public relations, marketing or editorial. Although I am wildly nervous to graduate and take on the real world, I am very excited to see what the future holds!
Can’t wait to share the street style of DePaul students with you!
