Ahhhh, it feels so good to be back at it! After a semester of Guru-ing off, I’m glad to officially be back on board as a Style Guru from Kent State University. I’m currently studying fashion merchandising with a minor in sustainability, but sometimes you find out you are actually meant to be doing something else with your life. Because of this epiphany I had in my sophomore year, I hope to continue as a Style Guru next year at the University of Michigan while I’m studying Social Theory and Practice.
That being said, I love fashion, journalism, film, music and student activism. Growing up in Detroit, the art scene consumes what you do and I’m thankful for that as it has allowed me to express myself in various forms, my favorite being fashion. When I’m not spending too much money at the mall, I’m most likely at my favorite coffee or record shop or at a concert / house show of a band I like. You’ll most likely find me in my favorite Vans, my vintage leather skirt and my vintage denim jacket because I can’t leave my house in anything else. If you’re ever down to talk music OR FASHION, be my guest, but I would recommend having a few spare hours on your hands.
As my last semester at Kent State University is, well, right now, I am excited to be spending it in the best way. I love the people I have met through CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait to meet more through my experience as a Style Guru. As a returning Guru, I’m also excited to see such growth from all of the Gurus and I know that each semester only gets better.
