Hello stylish Fashionistas/os! My name is Katelyn Sampl and I am a first year student and a junior in academic standing at Florida State University. I am so excited to take more Retail Merchandising and Product Development courses which will allow me to learn so much more about the fashion industry. Fashion is definitely my passion, and Florida State provides so many opportunities to enhance my experience in the field that I love. This is my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I love sharing my favorite outfits of fellow students and blogging about the latest trends that I see around campus.
This semester is full of new adventures, responsibilities and tasks for me to work on. I am going to be the Secretary of the American Association of Textiles Colorists and Chemists (AATCC) fashion club. We will plan trips, community service projects and organize a spring fashion show. I am also a member of the Collegiate Merchandising Association (CMA) fashion club. Along with my academic studies, I am currently enrolled in the Parsons + TeenVogue Fashion Industry Essentials Certificate Program. I am LOVING it! I highly recommend it to all fashion lovers who want to stand out in an interview or spice up their resume.
Now let’s get to my favorite part of writing for CollegeFashionista…the outfit. I am obsessed with this denim skirt from Francesca’s because I have never seen a denim skirt quite like this one. I love that the chambray skirt is light washed and structured. I decided to style it with a striped, long sleeved, V-neck shirt from Target. The shirt is a staple to have in your closet because you can throw it on with a pair of distressed denim jeans for a casual look. We can’t forget about the shoes because these ones are so cute. I get compliments on them every time that I wear them. I love that they are trendy and chunky. They are from Kohl’s, but my good friend bought a pair just like them from Target.
