Happy New Year my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Kathryn Koyanagi and I am a fourth year Communication major at Simon Fraser University. I cannot believe how quickly time flies by as I am now starting my third semester with CollegeFashionista. Being a part of the CollegeFashionista team has been nothing less than incredible and I am looking forward to another semester filled with street style and stylish students. When I am not working or studying, you can find me perusing the online world of fashion. Bloggers and those on Instagram are constantly inspiring me to try out new looks!
What I am most excited for this term is watching the trends evolve as we transition from winter to spring. I hope that my fellow Fashionista/os will step outside their comfort zones with the beginning of a new year and with the change of seasons. That said, I will be sure to capture and share all of the unique trends I come across this semester.
While the weather remains on the cooler side here in Vancouver, layering and cozy scarves continue to be popular trends. As the temperature begins to rise, I am definitely going to find it hard to part with my big, blanket scarves. For this ensemble I chose to stick to the casual side and layered a long button-up tunic on top of a vintage washed pair of jeans. Lighter washed denim is a great addition to your closet because they can be worn for nearly all seasons! This outfit exemplifies some of my own personal style, which is contemporary and feminine with a touch a street wear.
Stay tuned this semester to see more of my own personal style and what other Simon Fraser University students have to offer!
