Time to kick off the start of a new semester with CollegeFashionista with a fresh look!
For those that are just tuning in with me, my name is Katie Keogh. I’m a junior at SUNY Oneonta, and this is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista! Through this internship, I was able to discover my true love for fashion. I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in this industry and work with the social media and writing side. As of this semester, I have switched from my education major and math concentration to communication studies in order to achieve those goals!
Acting as model coordinator for my college’s Student Fashion Society, which is an organization for those with an interest in fashion, I’ve had the privilege to work with some amazing people. From organizing fashion shows to styling models at photo shoots, it’s been a great experience that gets me involved in several aspects of fashion. The position has given me a sense of responsibility to make sure everything’s running smoothly. Overall, I have a blast working with my executive board and other members!
Aside from my fashion angle, I’m always on the move. I keep up on all my coursework for good grades. I’m involved in other on-campus activities, such as Oneonta Hip-Hop Collective. I maintain a healthy life by working out regularly and eating right. I spend time for my friends with grabbing dinner in town or staying in to play several rounds of Catchphrase. Even though I seem like I don’t have enough room to breathe, I make time to unwind by listening to new music (Selena Gomez’s “Revival” has been on repeat lately) and drawing in my sketchbook. I’ve also gotten into reading personal growth/wisdom books to pass my time.
The weather recently hasn’t gotten cold like we’re used to here in New York, so I’m still able to get away with wearing a thin sweater to provide just enough warmth. Plus, I’m in love with cropped tops! I paired it with high-waisted black denim jeans to make up for the cut of the sweater. They cut right at my ankles, so these booties make the perfect match. The jacket I’m wearing has a fleece liner and gives the illusion of more layers without all the extra bulk! Gold-accented jewelry, like my belt, help give a bit more bling to my outfit.
I’m excited to begin another #RAD semester with CollegeFashionista! The people on my campus have countless ways of showing their style. It’s invigorating to talk to them and find out more about them to see how they express themselves. Go Red Dragons!
