Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Katie and I am a freshmen marketing major at St. Bonaventure University. This is my first time as a Style Guru, and I am so excited to be able to have this opportunity to share my love of fashion with all of you!
Growing up in Rochester, New York, I never knew what I wanted to be when I was older. While all of my friends talked about their dream jobs of becoming a doctor, teacher or accountant, none of that ever appealed to me. Although I never knew what I wanted to be, as far back as I can remember I have always had an obsession with all things related to fashion and beauty. I knew that I never wanted to have a typical 9-to-5 job, sitting at a desk all day, and that I wanted to be able to express my creative side. I could spend hours and hours watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and flipping through the pages of Vogue without getting bored.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been passionate about fashion, beauty, writing and traveling. I always tell my family that if plane tickets were free they would never see me again! I believe that I was meant to grow up on the West Coast and cannot wait to live in California one day. My personal style mainly consists of anything comfortable, which includes flowy tops, leggings, skinny jeans and big sweaters. I love to accessorize with chunky gold jewelry and layer a bunch of long necklaces to spice up an outfit.
If I ever need a little outfit inspiration, I usually turn to Jessie James Decker, Lauren Conrad or Julie Sarinana. All of their styles are very unique and different from one another, but I love taking different aspects of one look and adding it into my own individual style. I am beyond excited to be able to have this opportunity to write for CollegeFashionista, and I cannot wait to share some of my favorite looks with you guys! Stay tuned!
