Hey Fashionistas! My name is Katie and I am so excited to have this opportunity to be a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista! I am currently a sophomore at Penn State majoring in marketing. In the future, I would love to work in the fashion industry and hopefully live in New York City.
Ever since I was little, I have loved fashion. I would always be excited to shop with my mom, play with my Barbie styling head doll or dress up my mannequin that I needed for my 12th birthday.
Growing up, my style has varied. I went from refusing to wearing dresses and skirts and layering all my shirts with tank tops to being very preppy. Today, I wear whatever I am feeling. I have no one set style; one day I could be very preppy and the next day I’ll be wearing Free People from head to toe. As Marc Jacobs has said “To me, clothing is a form of self-expression- there are hints about who you in what you wear.” I could’t agree more with him, fashion is about expressing who you are. When I dress myself everyday I wear what I want whether I take a risk that day or stick to the neutrals.
In this look, I stuck to the neutrals. I love wearing black as seen with my black tank top and black pants. I am also wearing an open cardigan sweater, which allows me to layer my clothes. And to finish off the look, I added a neutral scarf and a pair of tall green suede boots.
I can’t wait to start this semester and share with you the variety of fashion at Penn State!
