Hey there Fashionistas! My name’s Katrina Ore and I’m a freshman fashion merchandising/journalism double major at Kent State University. I’m super excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this semester and to have the opportunity to share my personal style with you all!
I’ve been interested in fashion and writing for as long as I can remember, so when it came down to deciding on a major I knew I couldn’t just pick one. I knew that I would pursue fashion journalism from the moment I entered high school, and I couldn’t be happier to be attending such a highly ranked school for what I want to go into.
For my first post I wanted to give you all a taste of my personal style, and I feel that this look ties in all of my favorite things in fashion right now to perfectly represent me. When it comes to my style I’m super into ’80s and ’90s influences, while still capturing that trendy modern day look. It’s a lot easier for me to achieve this ideal trendy yet vintage look today especially because of just how popular the ’90s are in current fashion.
I chose to wear my favorite new slip dress that gives off major ’90s vibes, and paired it with my favorite item in my closet—my dad’s vintage jacket from the ’80s. For a pop of color, and also to keep me just a tad warmer in the windy weather, I bundled up in my cozy scarf and layered black sheer tights underneath my dress. Thigh high boots are super trendy right now, so I decided to wear mine to tie my look together and to keep my legs warm.
This has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve styled because it’s so versatile and can be worn almost anywhere! Not to mention the fact that it’s super comfortable and fashion forward.
I’m so stoked to spend this semester capturing some of my favorite looks for CollegeFashionista and excited to see what this year will bring!
