Hey there, everyone! My name is Katy Anderson and I am currently a senior Political Science major with a minor in English at Ole Miss. Being a California girl in Mississippi, I have observed so many awesome trends that are so unique to the south. I must say, the people here in Mississippi are always dressed to perfection and that is something I truly admire, as well as something that has really had an impact on my own style over the past few years. I am so excited to share with everyone the amazing style of my extremely fashionable friends here in Oxford.
As many of my friends would say, my style is fairly simple. Most days, I will opt for the “three C’s of my life,” which are cute, comfy and casual. I am always open to playing with colors and prints (especially cheetah print), but I am mostly attracted to solid neutrals, AKA black and white. I typically go for simplicity and dress up my outfits with fun accessories and shoes. I am all about some fun bracelets with a necklace or a scarf. My go-to outfit for a night out will typically consist of jeans and a black top with a pair of fun heels and (usually) an array of gold jewelry. When it comes to purses, I love all sorts, big and small. I am content with carrying around a large tote bag or settling for a smaller cross-body.
Summertime is when I keep things the most simple. By trying to remain as comfortable as I can as my main goal, I like to keep a simple base of just shorts and a solid colored top. I love experimenting with earrings, necklaces and bracelets, as well as different styles of sandals and wedges. My absolute favorite accessory is a solid pair of sunglasses. I like to go for the more statement sunglasses such as oversized or cat eye.
I am so beyond excited to have the privilege to write for CollegeFashionista this summer.
